Today we will talk about a war, the American Revolution, and our case for the Republic.
Is there anyone alive today who will take the pledge found at the bottom of the Declaration of Independence?
John Adams put it this way in a letter to his wife, Abigail, regarding the original fight for independence.
“Posterity! You will never know how much it costs the present Generation to preserve your Freedom! I hope you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven that I ever took half the Pains to preserve it.”
I, for one, will answer the call, and I invite you to be reacquainted with our founding fathers and their philosophies on Independence.
October 2008, these words came out across the radio,
“We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.”
I shrieked at the choice of words that came from the nominee’s mouth. Pleading, at the top of my lungs, with the radio, “screaming NO, that is not the way to go”. Is this what he truly believed?. Is this what my fellow countrymen believe? It can’t be.
WORDS MEAN THINGS
I am a simple man and rely on words to explain my feelings. I assume that others do the same. So, if someone uses words to define or declare his intentions, I usually take that person at face value.
To me, words mean things that help me communicate effectively. They also expose the speaker’s innermost thoughts, feelings, and intentions if listened to carefully.
So when a man says “A fundamental transformation of the United States of America”, to me, he is saying, “a transformation at the very root or foundation of, in this case, our country. I ask, does he really want to change the “bedrock” or foundation of this country? What do you mean by your words? What point or message are you trying to convey?
WORDS DO MEAN THINGS!
FORWARD 2016
Of all of the promises President Obama did not keep, I wish this “Fundamental Transformation” was one of them. But alas, he kept his word on this promise.
As we approach the final few months of Obama’s Presidency, we are realizing just what he meant by “fundamentally transforming the United States of America”. The America we have today is not the same as we had just 8 short years ago; our culture and country have been transformed.
The strife and anger present on all sides are touchable. There is such division amongst the different groups of people that we are not even talking to each other. We call our fellow countrymen “enemies” if they do not think the same as we do, and we are allowing disrespect and (flag burning), to run rampant in our streets.
Yet we are still the same people that started this walk just a (few years ago).
OUR STANCE ON INDEPENDENCE
My Cause
To remind my countrymen about the reason our founding fathers made the country this way, and to introduce them and show the truth about them so that we can make good decisions going forward either to keep the Republic or wander into the quagmire of Socialism
